Eche Chuka Benjamin

(Company Chairman)

Benjamin Eche graduated with honours from the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) from the department of Applied Geoscience. He also attained an MSc. in petroleum geology from the university of Port Harcourt.

Benjamin retired from ExxonMobil as a senior manager Development Geosciences – Having had a successful and thrilling career spanning about 25years. He worked in the Eket, Houston and Lagos offices of ExxonMobil providing leadership and mentorship to young engineers. Benjamin is an expert in Oilwell engineering, reservoir studies and management. He worked in ExxonMobil Upstream Research in Houston where he was the Global Advisor on Research Application, Development and Deployment of Reservoir Studies, Simulation and Software testing.

Benjamin is adept in field development planning, production and operations management. He also has interests in marginal fields acquisition and development. He is passionate about growing and deploying Nigerian workforce in the upstream oil and gas sector.

Benjamin is the current Managing Director of Marine Flagship Services Limited with its headquarters in Lagos Nigeria. A platform he utilizes to extend philanthropy to the less privileged and through which he engages in community services.

 

 

 

Engr. Onyema Abel Nwobodo

(Managing Director)

Abel Nwobodo is a graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of Benin. He holds an MSc. in Asset Integrity Management from Robert Gordon University Scotland and an MBA from Lagos Business School. He is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School, Boston Massachusetts.
He has attended executive education programs at the London School of Economics, IESE Business school and the University of Texas at Austin.
Abel is a member of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) amongst many other professional bodies.
He spent 10 rewarding years with ExxonMobil Nigeria of which 6 years were spent managing facility integrity operations for ExxonMobil Upstream Nigeria as the pressure equipment program owner where he managed inspections for ExxonMobil upstream Nigeria. He was also design engineering lead for a couple of projects. He was the subsea trees and IWOCS specialist for the prodigious Exxon Erha North Phase 2 project. Abel was in the subsea intervention team which involved working through third party contractors to produce project specific engineering packages, projects management and controls. Abel has attended several international training programs and seminars focusing on Management, Inspections, Engineering, Asset Integrity management & operational excellence.

 

 

 

Marina Hampton – MSc. Mech. Eng. IWE/EWE

 Technical Consultant

Ms. Marina Hampton recently joined Phenomenal Energy as Materials Consultant. Ms. Hampton has over 25 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas industry having worked and lived in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Prior to her appointment, she held the position of Materials and Welding Consultant with Exxon Mobil / Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited in West Africa. During this time, she made major contributions to the successful completion of various shallow and deep water projects including OSO CRA pipeline replacement, SFD1, SFD2, USARI IDOHO replacement, ERHA North 2 (SURF and Topsides), etc.

Ms. Hampton has previously been engaged with global operators and contractors including Shell Oil, Technip, Stolt Offshore and Babcock Borsig Power in a senior materials and welding engineering capacity on major international projects such as Corib, BP Greater Plutonio, Dalia SURF, EHRA Original SURF to mention few.

She holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering from Sofia Technical University, Welding engineering degree & Post graduate specialization in Welding Engineering from Rostock University/Germany, as well as qualification as European/International welding engineer from DVS Duisburg ( German Welding Society). Ms. Hampton is a member of the American Welding Society, and registered at FNTS (member of FEANI).

Thavasi Muthu

Inspection Consultant/Advisor

Thavasi Muthu is a great resource to Phenomenal Energy Ltd. Muthu holds a Bacherlor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Institution of Engineers (India), ASNT NDT Level-III in UT; MT; PT; RT; LT, ISO 9001-2015 QMS Lead Auditor-IRCA UK, IOSH-Managing Safely-UK. He also received training on UT imaging at Fraunhofer Institute for NDT, Germany. Muthu has over 22 years’ experience in the field of Plant/Projects Fabrication and inspection of Oil & Gas and Power industry. He has worked in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, India and Nigeria.
Muthu, prior to joining Phenomenal Energy, was with Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited as Project Manager/NDE Advisor (Corrosion Condition Monitoring) for about 8 years. His contributions included OSO pipeline replacement, RLA studies on USARI, UBIT, QIT, EKPE, FPSO etc. His achievements in charting a successful integrity inspections and data management were widely appreciated by the Management. He received Certificate of excellence for his contributions during shutdown inspection on OSO complex during 2011.
Muthu established first ever Inspection/NDT facility for Papua New Guinea during 2001 and have contributed as inspection/NDT specialist to many Oil & Gas Projects (Exxon Mobil, BP Oil, Shell Oil, ADCO, etc.). Prior to his engagement in Oil & Gas industry projects in abroad, he was with Atomic Energy, India as Senior Scientist in the field of Plant Inspections/NDT for about 10 years. He has co-authored a book ‘Practical NDT’, Narosa Publishers UK & India, has 18 international publications and also have contributed in many National & International Symposia. Has also received merit awards from Acoustical Society of India, India Society for NDT. Further to his credit, one of his plant inspection solution published in British Journal of NDT has been referenced in ASNT handbook vol-7
